Happy National Toast Day
and welcome to my update from Heron Bayou.
And toast it is for now at Heron Bayou, after an all day marsh inferno!
(I don't want to think about all the wildlife killed in this 10th arson assault on our marsh since we moved to Lower Alabama from New York 8.5 years ago. Thankful, We, all our horses, donkeys, cats and dog are unharmed.)
Just when I thought I needed to make up the crimes...
My recent brush with more true crime resulted in my forthcoming episode in my Vella series story: "Terrors in Small Doses" where I take the true, murder-laced words of our local fire chief and imagine our backwoods community taking the law into its own bloody hands!
(Terrors in Small Doses-- is it now a journal of thinly veiled true crimes? :-)
That's it for this edition-- I have to get the smell of smoke out my hair!
